If you’re new to the game, or just need a reminder of how things work, read through the Stanley Cup Playoffs entries to see what past results look like. Please let me know if you have any questions!

Introduction

This game challenges you to pick the series winners, and the number of games it will take them to win. The more accurate your predictions, the higher your score!

Each round of the playoffs is equally important to win this contest, adding to the drama…there are 100 points up for grabs in each of the four rounds.

Picks are submitted prior to each playoff round.

Interested? Cost is $10, all money goes into the prize pool.

Entry deadlines are shortly before the beginning of each playoff round. While playing, please pay attention to the Stanley Cup Playoff schedule!

The Prediction Challenge–how it works

The game is scored out of 400 points, 100 points for each of the four rounds. You receive an entry form, make some simple predictions, and then cross your fingers. If you’re good, you will do as well as those who are lucky, perpetuating the sporting world’s most enduring rivalry.

Points

First Round (eight series)–100 points

Series are best-of-seven

Five points for getting series winner right
Five points for getting series game score exactly right.
One point taken off for each game incorrect, with lowest possible score being zero
10 bonus points to players with most correct series predictions
10 bonus points to players getting most series games scores exactly right
Maximum Score: 100

Second Round (four series)–100 points

Series are best-of-seven

Ten points for getting series winner right
Ten points for getting series game score exactly right.
Two points taken off for each game incorrect, with lowest possible score being zero
10 bonus points to players with most correct series predictions
10 bonus points to players getting most series games scores exactly right
Maximum Score: 100

Conference Finals (two series)–100 points

Series are best-of-seven

Twenty points for getting series winner right
Twenty points for getting series game score exactly right.
Four points taken off for each game incorrect, with lowest possiblescore being zero
10 bonus points to players with most correct series predictions
10 bonus points to players getting most series games scores exactly right
Maximum Score: 100

Final Series–100 points

Series is best-of-seven

50 for getting the Stanley Cup Champion right
50 points for getting series game score exactly right. Ten points taken off for each game incorrect, with lowest possible score being zero
Maximum Score: 100

Players do not earn points in rounds for which they do not submit predictions.

Series predictions must show a winning team with 4 games won and a losing team with 0, 1, 2, or 3 games won.

Tiebreaker

If players are tied at the end of the game on points, the tie will be broken based on the following:

1) Most points in the Stanley Cup Final Round
2) Most points in the Conference Final Round
3) Most points in the Second Round
